About the Maker:
Sophy Naess, an NYC-based artist, created this work, āLilacs,ā as a silkscreen on silk fabric in 2016. Inspired after experiencing the lilacs in Northern Sweden, she writes: āTheir appearance in spring came at the end of a traumatic period of darkness and announced the return of the pleasure of fragrant flowers.ā
